Self-empathy means loving acceptance of when your true care and effort given toward someone or some project, resulted in an unexpected, unhappy outcome.

This kindness toward oneself cushions hurt feelings, which creates strength to know the best way forward.

In future, the hurt of today may seem as the pivot to the fantastic circumstance in which you are now.

To start on such a new road requires trust and love of self.  

Because self-examination of painful circumstances usually opens more pain at first, to trust our love of ourself creates safety and form while we sort through our inner contradictions and imbalances.
